The rainbow is a symbol with deep meaning for so many people. For some it is a symbol of hope and promises from God. For others it is a symbol of acceptance for all and pride in oneself. Regardless of who you are, rainbows bring us all joy and can be a bridge of love between us. And Rainbow Bridge National Monument in Southern Utah seems the most fitting iconic landmark to name this shawl after.
I designed Rainbow Bridge to use seven mini skeins and one full skein of fingering weight yarn. It is constructed by knitting the body in garter stitch end-to-end with graduated increases for a rounded edge. Stitches are then picked up all along the bottom edge and a lacy border is knitted across from one side to the other. The lace is both charted and written.
Measurements - 70in/178 cm wingspan by 15 in/38 cm deep.
Yarn: MC - Yarnbrary Biography Sock in the Parchment colorway. CCs - Yarnbrary The Authors Color Library, Rainbow Edit set: seven 20g minis with at 87 yards per skein. Or you can use any fingering weight yarn with at least 200 yards for the MC and minis or scraps with at least 87 yards each for the seven CCs.
