Clover Springs is a lovely little picnic spot near the top of Millcreek Canyon. The canyon is just a short drive from Salt Lake City and it's amazing to quickly find yourself in another world. The mill creek, for which the canyon gets its name, runs through the picnic area and pines, maples, aspen and other trees surround you with life and stillness. That's my hope for these socks, that'll you find enjoyment and peaceful rhythm through this meandering stitch pattern made up of just knit and purl stitches.

Sizing

Circumference: 8 inches unstretched

Leg length: 6 inches.

Foot length (heel to toe) 9 inches. This is easily adjusted for any length of foot.

Best fitting with .5” – 1” negative ease.

This pattern is for one size, in both fingering weight and DK yarn options. It can be changed up or down by adjusting needle size. Change of size will affect amount of yarn needed.

Size:M(48 st DK, 64 st fingering)

Materials and Gauge

Yarn: 80 grams fingering weight yarn or 130 grams DK yarn. Fingering example (blue) shown with Candy Shoppe Yarns Simple Syrup base in Wish Upon a Star Sock set.

DK example (pink/red) made with `Candy Shoppe Yarns Simple Syrup base held double (for DK weight). Main color 100g Neapolitan Ice Cream, contrast color 30g Heartthrob.

Needles: US size 1 needles (2.25 mm) for fingering weight, US size 3 (3.25 mm) for DK, or size needed to obtain gauge. If working in magic loop, use needles with 40” cable.

Darning needle for weaving in ends.

Gauge: 9 stitches per inch in stockinette with fingering weight, 6 stitches per inch in stockinette using DK.
